Germany mud slide in Nachterstedt 'caused by secret Nazi Zykon B factory'

Could this be the Nazis' fault? The debris after a mudslide that killed three last year in Nachterstedt, GermanyInvestigators probing a giant mudslide in Germany that killed three people are using old RAF maps to locate a top secret Nazi underground factory that may have triggered the disaster.

Three people died a year ago when houses fell into a giant crater near the town of Nachterstedt in Saxony-Anhalt.

Since then no plausible explanation for the earth‘s sudden shift has been found, despite the fact that the homes were built on the edge of an old open-cast coal mine.

But in the last few weeks attention has focussed on an unknown secret installation that Nazis carved out of the earth as part of a plan to protect war production plants from Allied bombing.

The subterranean facility - under the charge of the company used to create Zyklon B, the pesticide used to kill Jews during the Holocaust - was so secret that all details of it vanished from maps and archives.

Stern Magazine in Germany reports this week how investigators have found the interrogation minutes of an S.S. trooper called Plumeyer who told his captors of the entrance to this plant. It is barely yards from where the houses that were destroyed in the mud slide were located.

Lawyer and passionate Nazi researcher Dirk Finkemeier has procured RAF maps for the investigators to show where Bomber Command believed the secret war-production plant to be.

The Nazis worked tens of thousands of slave labourers to death in WW2 building underground factories as the RAF by night, and the Americans by day, turned the landscape of Germany into brick dust.

Still killing: A man looks at a canister of Zyklon B gas used in the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp as part of a Holocaust memorial in Jerusalem (file photo)Finkmeier, acknowledged as Germany‘s leading experts on these troglodyte war plants, said: 'I was shocked when I heard the news of the deaths a year ago and something clicked for me.

'I looked in my archives and sure enough I had marked it down to include it in a book I was writing.'

The Nazis were building beneath Nachterstedt a synthetic gas plant. The company in charge was IG Farben, producers of Zyklon B, the pesticide gas used to kill the Jews in the Holocaust.

The theory is that one of the extensive underground chambers of the secret installation collapsed, triggering the disaster.

Investigators say they will not examine local and state archives to see if the factory itself can be located.
