Victim was child of 14, not young woman of 25.

It makes me angry that the media still calls the main victim of the U.S. soldier rape-slaying a "young Iraqi woman" when she was 14 years old. That's a *child* according to US law, not a young woman. This soldier and his accomplices raped a child, killed that child and burned her to try to hide the evidence. Now, "Four more U.S. soldiers have been charged with rape and murder" according to ABCNews. "... a doctor at the Mahmoudiya hospital gave her age as 14. He refused to be identified for fear of reprisals." According to the scotsman, "... Her identity card and death certificate, however, show she was 14."

So, our military contains armed gangs of murderous pedophiles. Obviously, one hopes this is tremendously rare, but I've read in many places that women and children were also raped, tortured and murdered in Abu Ghraib. This is why they wouldn't release all the photos.
"Other witnesses interviewed by the Guardian have said that US guards "repeatedly" raped a 14-year-old Iraqi girl who was held in the block last year." - guardian

To cover up the facts, the Iraqi girls are called "women" and "prostitutes" when they are mentioned at all. There are/were also children held at Guantanamo. That's insane. How can that happen? Monsters! Release the children! Stop the torutre, shut down Guantanamo!
These are reasons I get so completely pissed off when my conservative head-in-the-sand friends say things like, "I support what we are doing over there." They have no idea about these horrors. They don't want to know. Go ahead, try to tell them. They will freak out, shut down, get angry at you, walk away, make excuses, *anything* to avoid confronting the horrible truth: they supported a war which is resulting in the rape, torture and killing of innocent children by our military. This is a war OF terror, not a war ON terror, and we are the ones doing the most terrorizing. End the war. Impeach Bush before his evil team can defeat our remaining liberties.
