Rock Island, IL: Mystery object turns out not to be a bomb

"A mysterious object found in a Davenport home turned out not to be a bomb, but a device aliensthat was supposed to scare off aliens believed to be living under the ground... Jessica Harper of Bettendorf said she moved out ... on Sept. 29 and left behind a box containing the device, which the Quad-City Bomb Squad investigated Sunday. She said a friend of her mother who lives in Colorado sent the box about a year ago, but they never bothered to open it or throw it away.

... the device was supposed to set off vibrations that would keep aliens away. Harper added that she did not know what the device looked like since they never opened the box." - qctimes

Obviously, the device worked fine. It kept all underground aliens away from that home... until now. They don't really have to be aliens. If a past race of humans moved under the ground, for example, to avoid wars on the surface, and continued to flourish and progress technically for thousands of years ... might they be the cause of many currently inexplicable phenomena?

Bigfoot expo shines light on hairy mystery

Hundreds gather in Texas to discuss Sasquatch sightings. "... there have been more than 2,550 seemingly credible Bigfoot sightings reported in North America the past century, according to Christopher L. Murphy's 2004 book ?Meet the Sasquatch.? ... Colyer and others estimate that about 2,000 are in North America today, reclusive nocturnal animals living in thickly wooded areas with waterways, eating meat and plants and making nests out of trees and brush.

See our Bigfoot article for more, including links to thousands of sightings and my own photo.

New way to be a child star: be a star child.

"According to the event's Web site http://www.thebayareaufoexpo.com the Andrews family has experienced paranormal events, government interference and alien abductions for about 12 years, even though the family appears to be normal. The site adds that today, the Andrewses have become accustomed to the unusual occurrences

If I didn't already have plans, I might go see this BAY AREA UFO EXPO with Dean Haglund, " The Lone Gunman" as keynote speaker.

Prius Recall

I'd heard the rumors. Seems they were true. The gas engine in the Prius sometimes shuts down on the freeway. I had trouble starting mine when I rented one. Turns out I was just doing it wrong.

"Toyota is recalling 160,000 of its popular Prius hybrid cars because of an electrical / software problem that could cause the engine to stall. ... Toyota suspects a computer glitch. The problem can shut off the gasoline engine but is not regarded as a safety issue because drivers can still count on the hybrid's electric motor to steer to the side of the road. " - more

Giant Ape (Bigfoot Ancestor?) Co-existed with humans

"A gigantic ape standing 10 feet tall and weighing up to 1,200 pounds lived alongside humans for over a million years, according to a new study. ... Scientists have known about Gigantopithecus blackii since the accidental discovery of some of its teeth on sale in a Hong bigapeKong pharmacy about 80 years ago. ... Now Jack Rink, a geochronologist at McMaster University in Ontario, has used a high-precision absolute-dating method (techniques involving electron spin resonance and uranium series) to determine that this ape ? the largest primate ever ? roamed Southeast Asia for nearly a million years before the species died out 100,000 years ago during the Pleistocene period. By this time, humans had existed for a million years." - livesci

For my God lovin' and other science learning friends: Read this Christain perspective on radiometic dating techniques.

"There are now well over forty different radiometric dating techniques, each based on a different radioactive isotope. ... It has become increasingly clear that these radiometric dating techniques agree with each other and as a whole, present a coherent picture in which the Earth was created [4.5-4.6 billion years] ago. Further evidence comes from the complete agreement between radiometric dates and other dating methods such as counting tree rings or glacier ice core layers. Many Christians have been led to distrust radiometric dating and are completely unaware of the great number of laboratory measurements that have shown these methods to be consistent."
